Motorhome Hiking in France
The Sentier du Littoral from Bidart to Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a wonderful and family friendly hike along well-maintained and undulating coastal paths. You will be treated to amazing views of the mighty Atlantic and the mystical La Rhune mountain.
Hiking Sentier des Gardes is hard work and challenging underfoot, especially coming down, but worth it for the breathtaking views across the Hérault towards the Mediterranian.
Hiking Vallee de Gaube in the French Pyrenees is spectacular and breathtaking. A truly beautiful hike, taking in Lac de Gaube and the surrounding Vallee, you will want to stop often to marvel at mother nature, the scenery and waterfalls.
Hiking Cirque de Gavarnie is relatively easy and very family friendly. Much of this hike is within the Cirque, along level paths and across meadows, affording spectacular views of the many waterfalls that cascade down the walls of the Cirque.
Hiking Port de Boucharo and Pic de la Pahule is easy because you start at a high altitude. It’s a great hike for a day off when your legs need a rest, but packs a whopping punch! The views are incredible and Spain is so close you could just keep going….

Motorhome Hiking in Spain
Hiking Circo de Souso in the Spanish Pyrenees can be as challenging as you wish, depending on the route. This is a varied hike involving switchbacks, undulating paths and valley floor woodland, all the while following the stunning Arazes River. The scenery is dramatic, the waterfalls breathtaking; you will not be disappointed!
Hiking Acontilado Natural park from Barbate to Cape Trafalgar will give you a real sense of achievement, along with the most amazing views of the historic cape and lighthouse through the abundant maritime pines which throng the sandy path.
Hiking Colada de la Costa is fascinating, with stunning rock pools and beaches along the coastal route. The view across the Straits of Gibraltar to the African continent is stunning and on a clear day, really detailed.
We loved this hike up La Pena for the amazing views across Valdevaqueros beach and to North Africa, and what feels like hundreds of majestic wind turbines.
Hiking Monte Bujeo, Tarifa gifts you truly majestic views across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco and Jebel Musa, an 842m mountain peak known as the southern pillar of Hercules.
Hiking Poqueira Gorge is one of the classic Sierra Nevada hikes, through the high Alpujarra and surrounding villages, with the mighty and dramatic, often snow covered, Mulhacén visible in the distance.
Hiking Siete Lagunas, Sierra Nevada is a tough all-day hike with spectacular views and a steep uphill from the start. This is a rewarding hike with the stunning lakes at the halfway point before you descend and head home.
Hiking Junta de Los Rios, Sierra Nevada is a delightful family friendly day out. This easy under foot hike follows identifiable paths and has great views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada.
Motorhome Hiking in Portugal
Hiking Passadiços do Paiva is fascinating; you will follow a series of wooden walkways suspended from, and built along, the banks of the stunning Paiva River, south of Porto. Make sure you’re ready for the 600 or so steps in a series of wooden stairways at one end!
Hiking Rota Vicentina (also called the Fisherman’s Trail) from Zambujeira do Mar is simply stunning. With the wild Atlantic craving against every cliff and sea-birds everywhere you look, your senses will be alive!
Hiking the Rota Vicentina (also known as the Fisherman’s Trail) from Carrapateira, Algarve will leave your jaw dropping as you watch the huge Atlantic rollers crashing against incredible rock formations and cliffs. A dramatic and varied hike taking in cliffs, beaches and grassy tracks, this is one not to be missed!
Hiking Monte de Foia in the Sierra Montchique is a peaceful and solitary experience. This unspoilt corner of Portugal’s Algarve is beautiful and offers amazing views of the coast. The via Algarviana hiking trail intersects with Monte de Foia, if you want to explore further.

Possibly the most beautiful hike in Sicily! This gorgeous mix of mountain and coastal route is fabulous on a sunny day, the views across the Gulf of Cofano are spectacular. Mount Etna is many things, amongst them one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Italy’s Mount Etna is not to be conquered as she is the conqueror, but you can hike to the summit, currently at 3,326 meters above sea level. (10,912 feet)

Motorhome Hiking in Norway
Trolltunga (literally Troll’s Tongue) is one of Norway’s iconic (and let’s not deny it, Instagrammable) hikes. Trolltunga is in the Hardangerfjord region of Norway, with the fjord itself being the fourth longest in the world and the second longest in Norway. The region is also home to the Folgefonna glacier and the Vøringsfossen waterfall; it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and a hub of Nordic activity.
